Nursery Admissions

Preston Park Primary School offer Nursery places for 2, 3 and 4 year old children.

We offer morning sessions starting at 8:30am and finishing at 11:30am and afternoon sessions starting at 12.30pm and finishing at 3.30pm. Nursery provision is on offer during term time only.

Funded Childcare for 2, 3 & 4 year olds

Some 2 year olds can access up to 15 hours per week of funded childcare (Subject to eligibility).

2 year olds can join the Nursery the term after their 2nd birthday.

All 3 and 4 year old children can access 15 hours of funded childcare. Some children may be able to access 30 hours of funded Nursery subject to eligibility.

Applying for a funded place in the 3 and 4 year old provision

All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 570 free hours per year.

It’s usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. Parents will be able to access these hours the term after their child’s 3rd birthday. Parents may also be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare if both parents are in work subject to eligibility.

Non-Funded Childcare

Where parents are not eligible for funding, they also have the option to pay for their childcare.

We currently charge the following rates for childcare:

  • 2 Years olds: £8.00 per hour for up to 15 hours per week
  • 3 year olds: £7.20 per hour for up to 15 extended hours per week

Parents applying for non-funded childcare will be charged directly by the school.

Parents must apply the term before they would like their child to start. Once admission forms have been completed and returned to the school, the applicant will be sent a letter within 5 working days containing confirmation of receipt and an invoice for the required payment. Parents are normally charged for the full term. Children will only be offered a place after receipt of payment.

RECEPTION APPLICATIONS

Children born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 are due to start Reception class, the first year of primary school, in September 2023.

YEAR 6 TRANSFERS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

Children born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 are due to start secondary school, in September 2023.
