Dear Musicians, Why not try some of these fun music activities to keep your creative mind buzzing!

Below, you will find a variety of different websites which included games, quizzes, songs and more!

Key Stage 1

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW2DY1OpgrI – This activity has been taken from Cbeebies. It is a fun rhythm activity.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOh1P1ZcTaU - Cbeebies rhythm activity session 2. If you enjoyed the first activity, why not try this one!

 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03jvjcf - This links includes a variety of different activities. They are all linked to children’s BBC radio program. You can search a topic or theme or story you are interested in, where you will find a different tasks, for example learning a new song and listening to music.

 https://www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home/ - Out of the Ark are offering free resources during this uncertain time. Click on the link and you will find a new song to learn. This is updated every week, so make sure you regularly have a look and see what is new to the site.

 Purple Mash – Don’t forget to explore the musical activities on Purple Mash. Compose your own music, record it and play it back for your family to hear.

 Key Stage 2

 https://www.classicsforkids.com/ - Classics for kids is a great resource. Whether or not Classical music is your favourite genre, this website offers you a variety of fact files, quizzes, games and activities to develop your understanding of famous composers.

 This website is split into KS1 and KS2. When you click on the link, scroll down to the KS2 section of the page. There you will find topics on history/ geography/ English. Take a look at the activities based on a topic you have already learnt in school or have a look at something new!

 https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/zwxhfg8 - This websites offers you activities based on different aspects of music vocabulary. You will find activities and games on tempo, texture, pitch, dynamics, timbre, listening, composing.

In class we use this musical vocabulary in all our lessons. Why not take a look and brush up on your knowledge!

Brent music service online music support – Song of the week & activity of the week

As well as your child having opportunities to learn music via the school’s distance learning program and children being able to continue to learn their instrument with a BMS tutor via live online lessons, BMS have put together some new resources to support our young musicians. Each week a new song and a new activity is uploaded for your children to enjoy.

Brent music service instrumental music support

Music base

It is great to see so many pupils enjoying their online instrumental lessons. Brent Music Service have put together a website to help support your child whilst learning their instrument at home.

 

The website is divided into separate instrument sections and in each section there are guides to help with tuning your instrument, learning scales and learning new pieces.
