Preston Park Primary

Year 2

A day in the life of Mrs Georgiades

Dear Year 2,

I hope that you are enjoying your first week of online learning. We have enjoyed putting the PowerPoints together and look forward to hearing about your learning journeys and seeing the amazing work and videos that you have produced so far at home. Please do keep sending them to us as we are creating a celebration wall on our new website where we can display these fantastic pictures and videos! Additionally, we look forward to our weekly welfare calls where we can discuss how you are getting on with your tasks.

We greatly miss teaching you.  We have ensured that lessons are fun and engaging for you. If there is anything that you do not understand, please do not hesitate to ask us when we call you!

I hope that you have also had a chance to spend some quality time with your families. I have been playing in sand with my son and he has been reading every day! He also enjoys having books read to him and turning the page all by himself. I hope that you are doing similar. It is vital that we read daily or listen to a story through Audible to support us with our learning and vocabulary development.

Please keep safe and well. Look after yourselves and remember to always wash your hands.

Best wishes,

Mrs Georgiades

A Day in the life of Miss Bayhan

Dear Year 2,

I hope that you and your families are well. I hope that you have all been enjoying the PowerPoints that we have put together for you. We love seeing your work, pictures and videos. Please keep sending them to us because we want to see what you have all been up to. Your pictures, videos and work always puts a smile on our faces so thank you. We do enjoy working from home, but we really miss teaching all of you at school!

What is a normal day like for me? Well on a normal day before I start calling my class or making PowerPoints, I will make sure that I exercise for 30 minutes while listening to some fun music. I hope that you have all been exercising as well because it keeps us healthy and strong.

After I finish calling the children in my class, I make sure that I go for a lovely walk outside. Sometimes I will go for a long walk in the woods with my dad and we usually explore the woods and look at all the lovely trees and flowers. One day I saw some lovely flowers called Bluebells and I took a picture of them. It’s funny because the Bluebells are actually the colour purple!

While I have been at home, I have also been trying to eat more fruit. I have bought lots of different fruit that comes from all over the world like custard apples, watermelon, cantaloupe, tamarind, pineapple, pomegranate and passionfruit. Have you had any of these before? They are so delicious and healthy for you.

Another hobby that I have kept while being at home is baking. I really enjoy making my own recipes at home and I have created a delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe. My family are always asking me to make more! Whenever I make these chocolate chip cookies, I also have to make my famous coconut milk hot chocolate. It is so scrumptious and chocolatey. This is a nice treat that myself and my family like to have sometimes.

If it’s a nice day outside and not too cold I will take a break from work and sit outside in my garden. I usually take a book and some water with me so I can read outside. I hope that you have all been reading some books too.

Year 2, keep working hard, spend lots of time with your family and enjoy being at home for now.

Keep safe, look after yourselves and remember to wash your hands!

From,

Miss Bayhan
