Using and applying English/Maths with a Rights Respecting Ethos

Lessons should celebrate the progress of all pupils regardless of ability (articles 23, 28 and 29). Pupils are given opportunities to develop their skills and talents through varied Maths and English tasks. All lessons allow for pupils to explore difficult concepts and to be given tools to research and investigate for themselves and then feed back to their peers what they have learnt (article 13). Pupils learn stories from other cultures and during international week they celebrate all of the different cultures within the school (article 30). In English, pupils learn skills in debate and expressing themselves clearly as well as respecting the views of others.
