School Lunches

All of our food is prepared daily by Oakington Manor catering and is served in our dining hall.  Meals include a choice of salad from the salad bar in addition to cooked vegetables, bread and water which are always on offer.   There is always a meat and a vegetarian option for each main meal.  All of our menus comply with the Government Nutritional guidelines.

Currently all children in KS1 (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) receive a free school lunch under the Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM).

Chldren have a choice of a hot school lunch or a packed lunch. The majority of our children opt for school lunch.

Children who do not wish to have a school meal have the option of bringing a packed lunch from home.  It is the expectation that these are just as healthy as school meals.  Chocolate cakes or biscuits are only permitted on Fridays.

A school meals cost £2.30 per day. This needs to be paid in advance using our online system - Parent Pay.

Free School Meals

From September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, will be able to receive a free school meal whether their parents are in receipt of benefits or not. If your child is in one of these year groups we still need you to apply for a free meal if you are receiving benefits.

Schools get extra funding for every child registered as eligible for a free school meal if their parents receive benefits. We use this money for additional activities including breakfast club, educational trips and after school clubs.

You can pick up an application form from the school or via https://www.brent.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. Please return this form to Brent. Please note you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child or pay for school meals until we recieve notification that your child qualifies for free school meals. We do not give refunds for meals that have already been paid for and taken up.

Even if you do not want your child to receive a free meal, please do not let the school miss out on this important extra funding that will benefit your child.

You can check eligibility via https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/
